Australia is now home to 161 billionaires, the 2025 AFR Rich List has revealed - but who makes up the top ten?

7 - Michael Dorrell: $13.9 billion
Stonepeak co-founder and fund manager Michael Dorrell is the highest-valued debutant in the history of the Rich List after quietly building his wealth.
Having previously worked at Macquarie, he struck out on his own in 2011 and has grown his company into an infrastructure giant with $101 billion under management, almost 250 staff and investments across the world.
6 - Melanie Perkins and Cliff Obrecht: $14.14 billion
The Canva co-founders are up four places from 2024 as their graphic design software platforming now pushing heavily into AI.
The couple, who are married, started the company 13 years ago, and have also pledged to give away much of their fortune in the future.
5 - Clive Palmer: $20.12 billion
It was hard to miss the mining magnate during the recent federal election.
He endured a miserable result in the election - and while he moves up to fifth spot on the list, his fortune has shrunk by nearly 12 per cent.
4 - Scott Farquhar: $21.42 billion
The former CEO of Atlassian earlier this month took on the chair role at charity group Pledge and also chairs the Tech Council of Australia.
He stepped down as Mike Cannon-Brookes' co-chief executive of software giant Atlassian last year.
3 - Anthony Pratt and family: $25.85 billion
Anthony Pratt, pictured with US President Donald Trump, and his family move up to third after seeing their wealth rise from $23.3b in 2024.
Packaging magnate Pratt is the head of Visy.
1 - Gina Rinehart: $38.11 billion
Mining magnate Gina Rinehart has topped the 2025 Financial Review Rich List for the sixth consecutive year, but her wealth has dropped $2 billion to $38.11 billion.
Mining remains the largest sector for wealth creation in Australia even though the price of iron ore has fallen.
But overall, the rich are still getting richer, with this year's list revealing the country's 200 largest fortunes have collectively leapt 6.9 per cent.
