Man dies after fleeing attempted armed robbery in Melbourne's north-east
A man has died while fleeing the scene of an attempted armed robbery in Melbourne's north-east this afternoon.
Police allege two men earlier entered the Wonga Park Cellars and General store armed with a weapon.
After leaving empty-handed, the duo sped away in a blue Ford Falcon where they collided with a white Nissan Patrol at about 3.15pm.

The Ford Falcon rolled on impact, killing the driver.
The 25-year-old passenger was taken to hospital, where he remains under police guard.
