Woman is pushed to ground and has cash stolen during violently robbery at ATM

A woman has been dragged to the ground and had cash stolen during a terrifying robbery at an ATM in Adelaide's CBD.

The woman was depositing cash into the ANZ machine on Gouger Street, when she was targeted just after 10am.

A struggle ensued with the woman pulled to the ground before the offender ran from the scene with her money.

The 49-year-old woman from Toorak Gardens wasn't physically injured but was left shaken by the ordeal.

Police swarmed the area and spoke with a number of people but are yet to find the suspect.

He's described as Caucasian, 183cm tall and was wearing blue jeans and a black and red hooded jumper.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the man is urged to call Police.

The robbery, comes less than three weeks after an elderly man was stabbed in the hand, while withdrawing cash from an ATM at Modbury.

On that occasion, the 81-year-old victim managed to fight off his attacker however he did need treatment in hospital for a wound to his hand.
