Woman glassed with champagne bottle at Sydney dance party

A woman has been hit in the back of her head with a champagne bottle, allegedly by an older woman, at a dance party in inner-west Sydney.

The 54-year-old woman was struck on the dance floor at a themed party called ‘The Farmer Wants A Drag Queen’ at Marrickville Town Hall about 9pm yesterday.

She suffered a cut and a rupture to the back of her head and was taken to Royal Prince Alfred hospital for treatment

Police arrested the 59-year-old woman at the scene and charged her with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The woman was refused bail in court this afternoon.
