Bingo sting: Woman flees after allegedly selling stolen goods outside bingo hall

A woman has bolted from television cameras after allegedly selling stolen goods to pensioners out the front of a popular bingo hall in Melbourne's north-west.

She'd become a fixture on the bench near the entrance to the St Albans Bingo Centre, off-loading items like batteries, razors and cosmetics from plastic bags at bargain prices.

A Current Affair understands the goods had been shop-lifted from nearby supermarkets and chemists.

The woman - who can't be identified for legal reasons - is at the hall around three times a week, according to bingo caller Andre.

"The centre frowns upon it, we don't promote it, because we do realise these goods have been taken," he told A Current Affair.

 "But we've told people that it's in the public domain, it's outside our building, so therefore we'll just turn a blind eye so to speak."

In surveillance vision, multiple women can be seen purchasing the cheap products, before entering the centre for an afternoon of bingo.

When ACA approached the woman, she ran - telling the program to "go away".

"We'd be happy for the police to come around and actually confront her on this matter," Andre said.

"It's stealing, and it's increasing the prices for honest working people as well."
