Woman charged after allegedly assaulting off-duty police officer
A woman has faced court today after she allegedly assaulted an off-duty police officer in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs yesterday.
NSW Police launched an investigation this month into "a series of random assaults" in the Bondi Beach and Bondi Junction area this month, allegedly carried out by a woman wearing "a distinctive bum bag".
An off-duty officer observed the woman at a shopping centre on Spring Street, Bondi Junction at about 5.30pm yesterday.

When the officer attempted to to arrest the woman, they were allegedly kicked, choked, bitten on the arm, struck in the face and had hair pulled from their scalp.
The woman also allegedly scratched and bit members of the public who came to the aid of the senior constable.

The 34-year-old was charged with several offences, including assault, destroying property, assaulting police and resisting police.
