One dead, one critical after two separate Sydney accidents
A woman has died after being hit by a garbage truck in Sydney’s last night.
At about 5pm the pedestrian was crossing Claremont Crescent in Windsor when she was hit.
Emergency services attended to treat the elderly woman, but she died at the scene.
The male driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing and is assisting police with their investigation.
Claremont Crescent has remained closed to eastbound traffic and crash unit investigators spent the afternoon on scene.
Meantime, another woman is in a serious condition after being hit by a bus in Sydney’s west.
About 1.40pm, emergency services were called to the intersection of Memorial Drive and Bathurst Street, Liverpool following reports a woman had been hit by a bus.
It is understood the bus drove onto the footpath, trapping the woman against a traffic pole.
The woman was treated by paramedics at the scene and remains in a serious condition at Liverpool hospital.
The bus driver was also taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
