Wild weather to continue in Victoria

Cold temperatures will continue for Victoria but damaging winds and heavy rain will ease today before another cold front moves in.

The SES has received more than 500 calls for help during three days of wild weather as three cold fronts make their way across the state.

Seven people were taken to hospital on Saturday after being involved in car accidents caused by fallen trees on roads.

A young boy remains in a critical condition in Royal Melbourne Hospital after his family's car hit a fallen tree in Moyston, 100km from Ballarat.

Flood warnings are in place in the state's northeast, with a number of rivers on moderate flood watch.

While temperatures will remain in the low 10s, Sunday morning will be sunny until a cold front comes through, the Bureau of Meteorology says.

"We'll get a bit of a break," senior forecaster Scott Williams told AAP.

"We'll get a few showers coming back in Sunday afternoon, but that's not expected to increase the flooding at all.

"Monday afternoon/evening there will be a somewhat stronger cold front so we may well see the wind gusting up to around 90 to 100km/h in the coast again, and probably 20-30mm of rainfall in the northeast."
