Cyclones trigger wettest Australian April since 2006
Australia has recorded its coldest and wettest April in years, even as some parts of the country broke heat records.
The country recorded an area-averaged 41.4mm of rain last month, Weatherzone has reported.
That's 10.9mm higher than the 1961-1990 average, and the wettest April since 2006.

The higher rainfall was triggered largely by Tropical Cyclones Herman and Ilsa, with the main falls received in Western Australia, South Australia, and the Northern Territory.
Heavy cloud also helped keep things cool over much of Australia during April.
The average maximum was 28.65 degrees, 0.05 degrees below the 1961-1990 average, according to Weatherzone.

It's also Australia's coolest April average since 2015.
Nonetheless, there were some parts of Australia that didn't get the weather memo.
Queensland recorded an average maximum that was 1.1 degrees above the long-term average.
In the aptly-named Sunshine State's eastern tropics, some areas even set a new April record for warmth.
