Wet weekend expected across Australia's east and west coasts

Australia's east and west coasts are set for another round of rain this weekend.

Showers are developing across Western Australia's coast with a cold front to move through the state later today.

This is ahead of a second cold front, which will approach tomorrow coupled with rain in Perth and parts of the state's south-west.

According to Weatherzone, Perth could see between 20mm to 40mm of rain.

The wet weather is expected to ease throughout the day on Sunday.

Perth will play host to an AFL match in the afternoon as the West Coast Eagles take on the Adelaide Crows at Optus Stadium.

Meanwhile, central and southern Queensland and northern NSW are experiencing showers and isolated thunderstorms today.

The rain is expected to build across the Capricornia and Wide Bay in Queensland coasts tomorrow.

Isolated coastal showers are expected to continue on Sunday across the NSW and Queensland coasts.

There is also a chance of rain in Brisbane over the weekend as the opening day of the beloved 149th Royal Queensland Show, better known as the Ekka, gets underway.
