Fast acting Aussie teens rescue baby dolphin

A group of fast-acting teenagers saved the life of a stranded baby dolphin in Western Australian.

On Thursday afternoon, while kayaking on Goegrup Lake in Mandurah, Zachary Allegretta, Michael Randall and Ryan Dalzell, all 15-years old spotted the young dolphin floundering in shallow water.

“We thought it was sick at first, so we got close to it and we saw the tide was going out and it was beached,” Allegretta told Fairfax Media.

“The mother wasn’t anywhere around and the baby was doing its mimic call to attract her.

“It was very stressed and very jumpy and obviously wasn’t comfortable with the situation."

Allegretta said it took almost 30 minutes to shift the mammal back into deeper water.
