Man charged with attempted murder after Sydney gym shooting

A man has been charged with attempted murder after shots were allegedly fired inside a gym in Sydney's west.

It's alleged 30 people were inside the gym on Wentworth Avenue, Wentworthville when the shots were fired, about 7.45pm on February 20.

No one was injured.

Police allege the 19-year-old was part of a "joint criminal enterprise responsible for the shooting".

After the incident, emergency services were called to Fulton Avenue in Wentworthville, where a white scooter was found well alight.

"Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze before the motorcycle was seized to undergo forensic examination."

The 19-year-old man was arrested at a shopping centre in Bankstown.

He was charged with shoot at with intent to murder and discharge firearm, intend cause grievous bodily harm.
