Woman drives car into Swan River
A woman in her 50s has driven her car straight off the road, plunging it into the Swan River, near Crawley in a bizarre accident.
The Toyota Camry veered off Mounts Bay Road and straight into the Swan on Tuesday afternoon.
The woman was out of the vehicle and did not suffer any serious injuries, while the car remained in the water.
The Seven Network reported that the woman was checking her GPS when she crashed the vehicle.
She was pulled free from the car by trailing motorists who saw the incident unfold,
Senior Constable Rob Townsend said it was fortunate no one was hit by the out-of-control car, which had been heading west when it veered off the road.
He said the car had missed a light pole, a tree and it was about a two-metre drop into the water.
