WA's Kings Park to undergo burn offs

Burn offs will be carried out in two popular parks close to Perth's CBD in the coming weeks.

Environment minister Albert Jacob said more than six hectares would be burnt at both Kings Park next to the city and Bold Park in City Beach in late April or early May, depending on favourable weather conditions.

The prescribed burns were part of a new research project into fire risk management and people would still be able to use the parks during the burn offs.
