WA ram-raider crashes own car

A man who allegedly ram-raided a roadhouse in Western Australia has been taken to hospital after crashing his car a short time later.

Witnesses saw the man drive his car through the front glass windows of the roadhouse in the Wheatbelt town of Toodyay on Friday night, police say.

After allegedly stealing some items, driving off and returning a short time later to steal some more, police were alerted to a crash nearby.

Officers found the 20-year-old driver injured at the scene.

He is being treated at Northam Hospital while police inquiries continue.
