WA motorcyclist caught speeding at 140km/h

A motorcyclist who allegedly led police on a chase from Perth's northern suburbs through to the outer-southern suburbs, reaching speeds in excess of 140km/h, has been charged.

Police spotted the motorcycle speeding in Stirling on Sunday night and tried to stop the rider but he sped away, prompting a pursuit involving officers on the ground and the police air wing.

The 35-year-old man, who was found hiding in scrub in Hillman, has been charged with no authority to drive, failing to stop, reckless driving and interfering with a number plate.
