Man faces WA court on child offences
A 41-year-old Perth man who works with children has appeared briefly in court charged with possessing child exploitation material.
Police searched electronic devices at his home and workplace on Thursday and alleged he had several child exploitation images.
The accused, who cannot be named, appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Friday but was not required to enter a plea.
He was remanded in custody to appear in court again on June 15 via video link.
Police released a statement after the Mount Pleasant man appeared in court, saying he was arrested at Perth Airport on Thursday night after his flight landed.
"Based on the assessment of the material that is alleged to have been located in the man's possession, no link has been established between that material and the children he works with," police said.
