A couple and their 15-year-old son have been arrested in Perth following a six-month operation targeting "doctor shopping".

The 40-year-old woman and 47-year-old man had allegedly obtained substantial quantities of prescription medication from various medical centres and pharmacies and sold them to several members of the public.

Police arrested the pair and their son, who allegedly had cash concealed within his underwear, after searching a Baldivis property where prohibited drugs and paraphernalia were found on Thursday.

An improvised drug manufacturing set-up, illegal drugs, a large quantity of medication and cash were also seized during a search at a Kenwick address as part of the same operation.

It will be alleged the couple received cash, drugs, chemicals and stolen property in return for drugs.

A police spokeswoman said the couple allegedly regularly supplied the drugs to someone knowing they were being used to manufacture "homebake heroin".

The couple and their son were refused bail and remanded to appear in court later on Friday.
