Perth will again host the nation's biggest Australia Day fireworks display, and this year the laser show will also offer 360-degree visibility to South Perth, Kings Park and beyond.

Howard and Sons Pyrotechnics will return after a six-year absence to deliver Skyworks 2016, which will also bring back the crowd torch wave.

About 300,000 people are expected to attend the event along the Swan River, which will begin at 8pm and feature a circular firing layout.

The weather is forecast to be pleasantly warm for revellers planning on spending the day in the sunshine.

The Langley Park entertainment zone will offer free attractions including the animal kingdom with camel and pony rides, freestyle motocross and BMX demonstrations, and a water playground featuring a 60-metre water slide.

Langley Park also offers the best views of the air show and water regatta featuring new, rare and vintage private and Defence Force air and water craft.

The Survival Perth concert, celebrating the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, will be held at Ozone Reserve with local artists such as The Merindas, Mervyn Mulardy and Phil Walley-Stack.

Limited alcohol will be allowed only in BYO picnic zones at Langley Park and in part of Kings Park.

For those not wanting to join the big city crowd, Fremantle and Cockburn will again host the Indian Ocean Fireworks from 8pm at Bathers Bay.

Local councils will also host citizenship ceremonies, barbecues, live music and other family activities throughout the day.

Police say they will not tolerate anti-social behaviour and are reminding people to drink responsibly while enjoying the festivities.
