Police injured in wild WA bush chase

Two police officers have been injured and four squad cars damaged after a man and a woman led police on a wild car chase through farm paddocks and bushland in WA's south west.

Police were responding to reports of suspicious behaviour at a property near Alexandra Bridge on Thursday morning when the two accused drove a four-wheel drive through a large shed door and sped away through bushland.

The 30-year-old man and 28-year-old woman, who have no fixed address, led police on a half hour chase through the bush where it is alleged they damaged four squad cars before their vehicle became tangled in fencing wire.

The driver, who police allege repeatedly rammed several police cars during the chase, was apprehended by police dog Jeffery after trying to flee on foot.

The pair were charged with aggravated burglary and stealing, while two police officers were treated for back pain and other various injuries.
