Plaques, drugs and turtles seized in WA

A man who allegedly stole metal plaques from West Australian war memorials and cemeteries has been arrested, with police also finding two protected turtles and drugs at his home.
The 34-year-old was arrested on Tuesday evening after police uncovered "a quantity" of metal plaques from cremation parks, war memorials and public information areas at an address in Mandurah, south of Perth.
WA Police said officers also found two living long-necked turtles - which have been taken to an animal rescue centre - and a small amount of methylamphetamine.

The Mandurah man has been bailed to appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on March 11, to face a string of of charges.
