Perth street in lockdown after reports of man armed with a gun

A Perth street is in lockdown after a woman was seriously assaulted and threatened with a firearm.

Althorne Street in Girrawheen, in the city’s north, has been cordoned off by police after reports a man was armed in the area.

The woman sustained head injuries in what police believe to be a domestic incident.

It is believed they were not the result of her being shot.

She is to be taken to Joondalup Health Campus for treatment.
