Man killed in long weekend head-on crash north of Perth

A man has died in a head-on car crash on a major road, north of Perth, during the Western Australia Day long weekend.
The man was killed when he smashed into a 4WD with a caravan on Indian Ocean Drive, about 10km south of the Ledge Point turn-off, just after midday yesterday.
A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said two children and their mother were believed to have received non-life-threatening injuries.
Another person was also injured in a separate crash in the same area, she said.
The area was closed for some time in both directions near Seabird Road and detours are in place.
Many people who travelled north for the long weekend were expected to be making their way back to Perth yesterday afternoon.
