Match Canning pledges, Labor urges govt

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has racked up his fourth visit to Canning for the by-election campaign and called on the government to match Labor's promises.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott is expected to visit Perth on Saturday, bringing his appearances during the campaign to three.

Mr Shorten told reporters on Friday that Labor was the underdog in the election and a 12 per cent swing in the party's favour would be a big thing to achieve.
