Beach closed after two-metre shark 'bumped into jetski' south of Perth
A popular beach has been closed after a two-metre bronze whaler shark "bumped into a jet ski" 100 metres from the shore south of Perth.
The shark interaction occurred near Town Beach in Mandurah about 7.14am (10.14am ESDT), which led to the beach being closed and a public warning was issued while experts assessed the situation.
The jetski rider was uninjured after the close encounter.

He made a report to the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, which issued a public alert via the Western Australian government's Shark Smart warning system.
"Adhere to beach closures advised by Local Government Rangers, Parks and Wildlife Service officers or Surf Life Saving WA," the alert said.
It comes just a day after Australia was named the top country in the world for fatal shark attacks.
Of the 10 fatal shark attacks in the world last year, four happened in Australian waters.
The latest was in December, when 15-year-old Khai Cowley died at Yorke Peninsula's Ethel Beach after being attacked by a white pointer while surfing.
