Man charged over sex attack at WA home

A 33-year-old man has been charged over a sexual assault and burglary south of Perth.
He allegedly broke into a Greenfields home just before 1.30am on November 25 and attacked a 62-year-old woman, but ran away when he was disturbed by another occupant and dropped items he had intended to steal.
The man has been charged with aggravated sexual penetration without consent, aggravated burglary and stealing.

This is the first case under new laws that could see the man face a 15-year mandatory prison sentence if he is convicted.
