Gas leak at a Perth bus depot

Firefighters have evacuated a Perth bus depot due to a gas leak in the building.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Fire and Emergency Services said the leak in a natural gas main line was reported at Swan Transit, Karrinyup at 1.17pm on Tuesday.

Gas pipeline operator ATCO is currently on site.

Police have closed off several roads and have asked people to avoid the area.

A Seven Network journalist told Fairfax radio there was no smell in the area but there was a "gushing sound" coming from the building.
