Extreme warning for WA's Gascoyne

An extreme fire danger rating has been forecast for coastal parts of the Gascoyne region of Western Australia.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) warns the coastal areas of the Shire of Carnarvon and Shire of Shark Bay are facing extreme conditions on Tuesday.
A severe fire danger rating for coastal parts of the City of Greater Geraldton, Shire of Chapman Valley and Shire of Northampton has also been announced.

A total fire ban has been issued for all areas listed above.
Conditions are expected to be very hot, dry and windy.
The DFES has warned residents to stay alert and watch for signs of fire, and have their bushfire survival plan and kit ready.
