Ex-AFL star pleads not guilty to violence

Retired West Coast Eagles footballer Daniel Kerr has pleaded not guilty to violence charges stemming from an alleged incident last year.

Kerr, 31, appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Monday where he pleaded not guilty to two counts of endangering the life, health or safety of a person after an alleged incident at a Glendalough home in November.

The two-time Brownlow Medal runner-up spent four nights at Hakea Prison last year after his parents initially refused to sign off on a $5000 surety to release him on bail.

After his release, Kerr told the Seven Network it was the "kick in the butt" he needed to turn his life around.

But the premiership player also conceded he could still face jail time over the violent incident.

Kerr had his bail extended and is due back in court for a trial allocation hearing in March.
