Early voting polls open for Canning

Pre-poll voting for the September 19 Canning by-election has begun.

The Australian Electoral Commission will also offer limited early voting services for FIFO workers at selected Perth airport departure terminals on weekdays from next Monday.

West Australian electoral officer Marie Neilson says people unable to attend the 45 polling places later this month could apply for early voting or postal vote, but warned that convenience or personal preference were not valid reasons for applying.
