Chinese man 'exploited' workers in Perth

A Chinese national has been placed in immigration detention pending his deportation after allegedly exploiting foreign workers in Perth.

The Australian Border Force nabbed the 37-year-old man during the search of a home in Carlisle on Thursday.

The man, who does not have a valid visa, is the director of a construction company that has been hiring foreigners who do not have work rights in Australia.

The ABF says the man withdrew more than $5.5 million from business bank accounts in recent years, with more than $1 million remitted offshore to China.
