CFMEU plans protest outside Perth court
AAP
Construction workers who were charged after they walked off the job to attend a union meeting will rally outside the Federal Court in Perth.
The 101 workers face fines of up to $10,000 each after leaving the new children's hospital site in Nedlands to attend the nearby meeting over wages and conditions in July 2013.
CFMEU state secretary Mick Buchan said he believed construction workers were being singled out "when other unions and their members have meetings across various locations without so much as a whimper".

"The day that workers can't have a meeting in this country to discuss important issues is a sad indictment on our democracy," Mr Buchan said.
