Canning by-election officially declared

Former SAS captain Andrew Hastie has been officially declared the winner of the federal Canning by-election.
With all 56 polling places returned, the Liberal candidate won with 55.25 per cent of the two-party preferred vote to Labor rival Matt Keogh's 44.75 per cent, a swing of 6.56 per cent to the ALP.
The Australian Electoral Commission will hold an event on Friday to officially declare the poll.
