Bushfire threat north-east of Perth

A bushfire is threatening lives and homes in the City of Swan, about 20km north-east of Perth.
A watch and act alert was issued about 4pm on Friday for people in the north western part of Gidgegannup.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services told motorists to avoid the area, and residents should leave now or get ready to defend their properties.
