Fire emergency downgraded for residents north of Perth

A bushfire emergency warning has been downgraded again for Gidgegannup in the city of Swan in Western Australia.
An emergency warning had been issued earlier last night for eastern parts of Gidgegannup in the City of Swan, with homes on Mayo Road and Toodyay Road under threat.
But before midnight authorities downgraded the alert level to "advice", stating there was no longer a threat to lives or homes.

"But there is a lot of smoke in the area," the Department of Fire and Emergency Services said in a statement.
"Although there is no immediate danger you need to be aware and keep up to date in case the situation changes."
The fire is burning south of Toodyay Road and east of the Noble Falls Tavern, but is currently stationary.
More than 100 firefighters are battling the flames and working to build containment lines.
