Driver allegedly refuses breath test after smashing car into street signs

Video has emerged showing a car swerving onto the wrong side of the road, smashing into street signs and almost colliding with several other vehicles.

Police were called by members of the public last night concerned about a Nissan Patrol on the Princes Highway at Nowra on the NSW south coast.

The person who filmed the video told 9NEWS they were driving behind the vehicle just before midnight.

Officers later located a vehicle outside a house in Sussex Inlet and arrested a 30-year-old man.

He was taken to Nowra Police Station where he allegedly refused to undergo a breath analysis.

He was charged with failing to undergo a breath analysis and dangerous driving. His licence was suspended and he will appear before a court at a later date.
