Gunman 'prepared for violence' before man shot dead in Mickleham
The killers of a young man are on the run after a fatal shooting in Melbourne's north overnight.
Korey Kesici, 22, was killed on Bangalore Way in Mickleham around 12.05am.
Victoria Police Acting Assistant Commissioner Mick Frewen said Mr Kesici left his home just after midnight to have a short discussion with a group of men in a BMW sedan.

Shortly after the discussion, Mr Kesici was shot multiple times.
Mr Kesici sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
A short time later, police said a silver BMW was found alight on nearby St Georges Boulevard.
Acting Assistant Commissioner Frewen said it was understood the vehicle was the same one that was connected to the fatal shooting.

He said police believed the shooting was part of an "organised criminal attack".
"It was more than a simple street exchange, the people who arrived on that street last night came prepared for violence," he said.
"They were armed and they had a vehicle that was (eventually) burnt out, they wanted to destroy the evidence."
It's believed Mr Kesici had a connection to the men.

Forensic police will remain on the scene for the next couple of hours.
