Man charged after fisherman allegedly stabbed to death on Frankston Pier
A 36-year-old man has been charged with murder after a fisherman was allegedly stabbed to death in Melbourne's south-east.
Police rushed to Frankston Pier, off Promenade Pier, about 6am yesterday after receiving reports a man was being assaulted.
They arrived to find a 45-year-old man injured and unresponsive on the pier. He died at the scene.

A short time later police arrested a 36-year-old man on the foreshore nearby.
It is understood the man who was arrested has no fixed address.
He has been charged with murder and will appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court later today.
Windy conditions at the pier were seen whipping up waves, with police concerned the crime scene could be contaminated.

Homicide detectives investigating the death and are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
"It is also believed the parties involved were not known to one another," police said.
Large sections of the Frankston foreshore remain cordoned off from the public.
