Wanted Vic sex offender evading cops

Police have lost contact with high risk Victorian sex offender John Huggins.

The homeless 42-year-old, who is known to frequent central Melbourne, St Kilda, Hampton, Brighton, Highton and Fitzroy, is legally required to tell police where he lives, but hasn't been seen for almost a month.

Huggins was added to the sex offender register in 2006 for an indecent act with a child aged under 16, Superintendent Lauren Callaway said.

He is not dangerous but has a history of failing to meet his reporting obligations, she said.
