Three teenagers killed after car hits tree in rural Victoria

Three teenagers are dead after a car hit a tree in rural Victoria.

Two girls and a young man died at the site of the Avonsleigh crash about 5.30pm on Tuesday.

A fourth man, who was also in the car, is in hospital with serious injuries, police say.

Earlier on Tuesday, a teenage boy died after being hit by a car while crossing a street in regional Victoria.

The 17-year-old was struck at Black Hill in Ballarat.

The deaths take the state's road toll to 129, compared to 124 at the same time last year.
