Victoria to bid for 2019 Bledisloe match

The Victorian government, basking in the success of last night's record-breaking State of Origin match, has set its sights on other big ticket sporting events to stimulate its economy.

"We understand that a packed sporting program is all about jobs for the state. We are very keen to make sure a really good program now gets better in the future," Premier Daniel Andrews told the Nine Network on Thursday.

Among the events on his wishlist is the 2019 Bledisloe Cup game between the Wallabies and All Blacks, which Mr Andrews says the government will be going after "in earnest".
