More than 1100 drivers nabbed by Victoria Police this snow season
More than 1100 drivers were nabbed by Victoria Police during this year's snow season.
The state conducted a major policing operation for Australians heading to the state's snowfields this year for Operation Eastern Snow.
Almost half of all fines issued in the Mt Buller, Falls Creek and Mt Hotham regions were for speeding, while heavy buses and vehicles were also targeted by police.

Out of 1117 offences, Victoria Police said 518 of them were for speeding.
368 drivers were caught travelling between 10 and 25km/h over the speed limit.
Among the other offences were 233 heavy vehicle offences, 72 unregistered cars, 23 seatbelt offences, five drink drivers and nine drug drivers.
Despite the huge amount of fines issued, police said driver behaviour on the roads was "mostly positive".
Michael Cirksis, Eastern Region Road Policing Acting Inspector, said locals around the snowfields also noticed a significant improvement on the roads this past season.
"We've received really positive feedback from local communities that our highly visible police presence during the snow season has resulted in greater compliance with the road rules," Cirksis said.

"Local residents and businesses have reported less speeding through towns and generally better driver behaviour by those travelling to and from snowfields like Mt Buller, Falls Creek and Mt Hotham."
However Cirksis warned police still pulled over too many drivers flouting the road rules on busy highways leading to ski and snowfields.
"More than a thousand traffic offences detected is a significant amount of offending," he said.
"Speeding continues to be the most common offence detected, which is concerning given some of the roads in the region have been significantly impacted by ice and snow at times throughout the winter months."
The police presence around Mt Buller, Falls Creek and Mt Hotham will continue to be strong as the weather warms, Cirksis said.
