Victorian motorists slugged $86 million in mobile speed camera fines
Victorian motorists paid $86 million in mobile speed camera fines and $140 million in red light camera infringements over a 12-month period, it has been revealed.
Freedom of Information documents obtained by Nine News reveal the most profitable locations for the state's fleet of mobile speed cameras.
The highest earner was on Ballarat Road in Footscray, which brought in $1.1 million followed by one on The Great Ocean Road which earnt just over $1 million.
Other profitable locations for the state government included Huntingdale Road, Station Street and Beaconsfield Parade all in central Melbourne.
Red light cameras, which are fixed to intersections, issued more than 476,000 fines over the same 12-month period.
The most profitable was at the corner of King Street and Latrobe Street, which brought in an eye-watering $8.7 million a year.

Other high-earning red-light cameras included Warragul Road at Chadstone which brought in $8.2 million and Fitzroy Street in St Kilda.
