Two Victorian teenagers and a man in his 30s face dozens of criminal charges after allegedly firing ball bearings and marbles at people, shops and houses in a period spanning almost a year.

The trio, aged 17, 18 and 38, is also accused of starting a series of roadside fires.

Police arrested the trio after a "long investigation" into the alleged attacks at the regional townships of Traralgon, Morwell, Hernes Oak and Moe between June 2018 and March 2019.

The 38-year-old man is due to face Latrobe Valley magistrates court on October 3, while the 18-year-old will front the same court on September 30.

The 17-year-old boy will appear before a children's court at a later date.
