Vic motorcyclist goes 98km/h in 40 zone

A learner motorcyclist has been caught travelling at almost 100km/h in inner-city Melbourne.

The 24-year-old was clocked riding at 98km/h in a 40km/h zone in Carlton on Sunday afternoon, police say.

The man was fined, had his motorcycle impounded for 30 days and was expected to be charged on summons for exceeding the speed limit.
