A man is due to face a Melbourne court after three homemade bombs were allegedly found at a property.

Police were called to a Greenvale property about 10.30am on Wednesday over an eviction warrant when they allegedly discovered three improvised explosive devices.

The bomb response unit was called in and neighbours evacuated from their homes as a precaution for several hours.
