Vic man repeatedly stabbed

A man has been repeatedly stabbed from behind in Melbourne.

Police were called to an altercation at a flat in Sydney Road, Campbellfield just before 3am on Saturday.

Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen says the 46-year-old victim was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition after being stabbed multiple times in the back.
