Vic man on murder charge after body found

A man has been charged with murder after a body was discovered in the ruins of a regional Victorian house fire.

Emergency services were called to a Ballarat property about 8am Friday where they found a fire and then later, during a search, found a dead person who is yet to be identified.

Detectives arrested a 35-year-old man on Saturday and he will face Ballarat Magistrates Court on Monday.
