Vic man arrested after seven-hour siege

Police have arrested a man who had barricaded himself inside a home north of Melbourne, bringing to an end a siege that lasted almost seven hours.

The 22-year-old was arrested at the Wallan home "without incident" just before 7pm on Thursday, police say.

Officers had been negotiating with the man since about midday. He was the only person inside the home at the time.
