Vic juvenile centre repair bill tops $141K

It cost $141,000 to repair Melbourne's juvenile justice centre after it was damaged in a stand-off between detainees and police.

Teenagers took equipment from the garden shed at the Parkville centre in March and went on a rampage, smashing parts of the centre.

Windows, skylights, air-conditioning, ceilings and the exterior of a building needed fixing, and the horticultural shed was removed during repairs completed last month, the human services department confirmed on Monday.
